The village is along the rail line from Monterosso (that can be reached in 4 minutes) and staying in Levanto is much cheaper than in the villages of the Cinque Terre.
Places of interest in Levanto
It is difficult to answer the questions: “Where should I go in Levanto, what is there to see?” There are not many places of interest here, but on the other hand there are many centuries-old buildings that deserve a visit. We suggest you visit the fortress, the palaces, the religious buildings (for example the monastery of the order of the Poor Clares and the ancient church of Santa Maria della Costa). We also recommend a stroll along via Roma in Levanto which leads from the station to the waterfront. And you can go to the beach or to the neighboring village along the walking trails: it is mainly for this reason that tourists come to Levanto!
The beaches of Levanto
The beach in the small town of Levanto is a bit like the beach of Monterosso. It’s large and well-kept, but it’s a pebble beach, with free or paid areas and other infrastructure. The coastline and the fishermen’s boats is a feast for the eyes.

Levanto – Monterosso al Mare

This variegated pedestrian trail takes visitors to the ruins of the church of Levanto, a building which is home to the hermits of Saint Antonio. It is located on Punta Mesco and can be reached with a two-hour walk from Levanto. The panorama from the point is captivating.
Levanto – Bonassola – Framura

This route passes through the restored old railway tunnel that currently acts as a cycle track. In many places the route leads to open areas from where you can descend to the beach. Places where you can rent bikes in Levanto are marked on the map (1 day: from 10 euro, 40% reduction if you rent for a half day). The rental points are closed for lunch from 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

Parking in Levanto
People who love traveling by car will be happy to know that in Levanto there is plenty of parking and it is not expensive: about 2 euro/h, to a maximum of 15 euros for 24 h. The first parking area that you meet on the road is marked on the map: it is located close to the station. If there is no place available, you can go toward the center of Levanto and continue searching.
